"Munchie"

Sold

Mary's Ameri Name - say it fast and you'll get it!  He is a 4 year old Thoroughbred gelding who stands 16.1 hands.

He has a very sweet face which represents his kind temperament.  He has good bone, making his build very "warmblood" like.

Munchie, as his breeder/trainer calls him,  was bred and raised by a very close friend of mine. He just had no interest in racing. His interest is more in being scratched and eating peppermints.

Munchie has no vices and is sound with comfortable gaits.  The video is my first ride on him here at Leighton Farm and he arrived here from Bowie Training Center the day before.  Obviously he settled right into farm life.  We'll likely hack him out today.

I think Munchie will be good at just about anything anyone wants to do with him.  In the meantime, I'll enjoy riding him until his new human appears on the scene.

Munchie is located at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

He is offered for $2,500.  Please contact me for more information.

"Heart"

Sold

Click here to see her pedigree.

Heart is very friendly and a huge peppermint monster.  She is used to being adored and that's not been a problem here at Leighton Farm. We've been hacking her around the farm for the past couple weeks and have just started working in the arena.

She was named for the heart shaped star on her forehead and it also happens to include part of both her parent's names, the traditional approach to naming a Thoroughbred.

Heart is five years old and a lady in every way.  She is very nice to ride, has perfect manners and is good with others while turned out.

This lady has potential to do just about anything and has left racing perfectly sound and in great shape.

She cross ties, stands for vet and blacksmith and handles loading and travel on the trailer like the champion she is.  Heart stands 15.3 hands.

Heart is located at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  She is offered for $2,500.

Both Queen and Grand were here at Leighton Farm last winter.  A neighbor, seeking to realize a lifelong dream purchased them both and took them to her small farmette.  She loves them both, but has been partially disabled by severe back pain.  This forces her to offer both of them for sale.

Grand is a flashy, 16 hand Thoroughbred mare.  She is 5 years old.

When she was here at Leighton Farm we adored her.

Both Queen and Grand were here at Leighton Farm last winter.  A neighbor, seeking to realize a lifelong dream purchased them both and took them to her small farmette.  She loves them both, but has been partially disabled by severe back pain.  This forces her to offer both of them for sale.

Intelligent and easy to ride when she was here at Leighton Farm, Queen will make a wonderful show or pleasure horse.

Click here to see her video.   This was done when I had her here at Leighton Farm.

"Raven"

Click here to see his pedigree.

Raven is a 4 yr old unraced Thoroughbred gelding.

He 15.2 and has been off the track since November 2009.

Raven has shown much athleticism on the track as well as when first turned out. The current owner really thinks this horse can jump. She's been on him but have not put any “real” time into him. He does have front shoes to protect his feet.

Raven stands 15.2 hands.  She has jumped on him bareback with a halter, ridden him out in the fields under tack and he just needs miles. She thought he would be a “do over” but he has really settled into being a farm horse now and will love being in a program with someone. He is ready to go and loves attention. She thinks this horse has a lot of potential.

Raven is located in West Friendship, Maryland.  He is offered for $2,500.
For more information, please contact me.

"Kissy"

Click here to see her pedigree.

Peanut Butter Kiss is a three year old Thoroughbred filly.

Her trainer/owner has had her since she was a yearling, broke her, and raced her four times. She did crack her shin in her first start as a 2 y/o but then we did shockwave and ran her three times since then (in fairly quick succession). She is 100% sound. She's raced on the dirt, and the last start was on the turf. She showed no desire to be a racehorse.  So... she gets to move on to a new career.

She is a beautiful floaty mover, and Katie had a professional dressage trainer pick her out as a yearling from the field and say she would make a great upper level prospect.
She stands 16.1 or so, and is more than likely not done growing yet. Her name is She is a candy addict. If she hears the crinkle of a wrapper she is all ears.

Being that Katie broke her, she should not be hard to retrain, since she trains most of my youngsters as you would a young dressage horse. However, she is a lot of horse. She would be most suitable for an experienced rider looking for an upper level event/dressage/jumper. She is very athletic, and very capable of what will be needed for the upper levels. She will need a lot of focus and patience though. Her sire is Fantasticat, which makes her a Storm Cat filly- you know their temperaments I'm sure.

Kissy is located in Damascus, Maryland and is offered for sale at $1,200.  For more information, please contact me.

Click here to see all of her videos.

She has also been xc training-confident, brave, and safe. She hacks out alone/in groups, leads/follows crosses water, ditches, bridges, all terrain-including traffic.

Training has been slow and correct-supervised by a professional. Amelia has perfect ground manners . EZ keeper-barefoot/field boarded; UTD on shots; ground ties; self loads. Maryland bred filly-EXCELLENT broodmare prospect, the owner has her papers.

Amelia is located at Middletown, Delaware.  She is offered for $ 3,800.  Please contact me for more information.

"Beau"

Beau is a true gentleman and will make a fabulous hunter/eventer or dressage prospect.

His good foundation makes him suitable for any riding level in the show ring or just fun on a trail.

Beau is a 5yr old unraced 16.3 hand Thoroughbred gelding with no vices or soundness issues.

Beau has started over fences both in the ring and on an outside course. He has been schooled in a variety of places both indoors and outdoors and handles every situation like a professional. Beau has also had two private dressage lessons.

Beau has shown successfully in two hunter schooling shows at Howard County Fairgrounds and Woodland Horse Center. He competed against 9 others in pleasure, trail, equitation and command and placed first in most of the classes.

Beau is an uncomplicated ride and is easy to work around. He loads and travels well with or without company.

Please click here to see video.

He is located Highland, Maryland.

Beau is offered for $9,000.  Please contact me for more information.

"Ozzy"

Click here to see his pedigree.

Sir Oz is a beautiful horse with a wonderful temperament.   He is By Trust & Luck out of Sulzar.  Ozzy is a registered Thoroughbred gelding.

No vices or soundness issues and he is very kind when being handled and ridden.

The owner who is also the breeder has decided to give up on racing him because he just was not competitive. He did win at Delaware going long, but the cost of training in contrast with his earnings did not make sense. This is not an owner who "gets rid" of her horses. He will be available only to a wonderful home.

He is sweet and reasonably bomb proof.  The owner said she probably should not have gelded him because he was just as sweet as a colt. The farm that now stands Trust & Luck reports him to be the most easily handled of all stallions.

Trained by Michael Gorham at Fair Hill, Ozzy is used to the best of everything.  Michael has everything in 4 standing bandages unless training, this is the reason for the discoloration of the lower legs.

He is 5 years old and 16 hands with very good bone.

Sir Oz is offered at $3,500 to a good home only.  He is located at Liberty Hill Farm in Mt. Airy, Maryland.  To arrange to see him, please contact me.
